Time to set some goals . . .

Since this will essentially be a brand new blog, I've been reading articles on planning a blog . . .

Building a Blog Plan for Success

5 Tips to Create a Blog Plan for Long-Term Success

Blog Plan

. . . among others.  One thing all the articles mentioned was setting achievable goals for yourself.  So, I pulled out a sheet of paper and made a list of things I wanna accomplish through the blog.
  1. Book speaking engagements (quilt guilds, etc.)
  2. Book technique workshops (quilt guilds, etc.)
  3. Sell books
  4. Sell patterns
  5. Sell quilts
  6. Teach
That last list item, "Teach," prompted its own list of subjects:
  1. Block design
  2. Symmetry
  3. Tessellations
  4. Foundation piecing
  5. Color theory
  6. Large-scale Celtic knots
Now that I have goals in mind, I have a better picture of how the blog fits in . . . There will be a lot of writing involved:  writing lessons on the various subjects as blog posts; re-purposing the blog posts into patterns and books.  There will be a lot of sewing/quilting involved:  making samples to display/sell.

And, I'll have to set new goals as I achieve the old ones . . .
